Rebecca is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New York, a graduate of both Houghton College and Roberts Wesleyan College, and an ordained pastor in the Wesleyan Church. She has worked in individual and group clinical counseling settings for over a decade. She has been trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention for families with kids from hard places, and has specialized trauma training in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based trauma treatment modality, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).
She weaves family systems theory, internal family systems, mindfulness, somatic therapy, narrative therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy into her work with clients, but fundamentally believes each client is a unique human and should not be pigeon-holed into one therapeutic approach.
Rebecca's approach to therapy is a collaborative one. She believes in every human's inherent dignity and worth, and will work to uncover each client's own strengths and resources in the process of growth and healing.
